Defining the most pertinent facets of a culture that drive respect in each segment of a global workforce can be a good starting point. This is also an important consideration in hiring respectful job candidates. Governance should include policies and procedures that foster both individual and group acceptance. Maintenance of respect is a function of how employees perceive they are being treated and their assessment of your cultural and emotional intelligence. Acknowledging key factors that can affect these perceptions is a useful tool for avoiding and resolving problems, and can allow one to effectively lead by example in a variety of situations.
